  AVOIDING FRAUD

  • DEAL LOCALLY WITH PEOPLE YOU CAN MEET IN PERSON
  • NEVER WIRE FUNDS VIA UNTRACABLE MEANS SUCH AS WESTERN UNION
  • GBOGBO DOES NOT GUARANTEE ANY TRANSACTION
  • NEVER GIVE OUT PERSONAL FINANCIAL INFORMATION

Examples of Fraud

  1. Someone claims that Gbogbo will guarantee a transaction or certify a buyer or seller
    • These claims are fraudulent as Gbogbo does not take part in any transaction
    • Fraudster may send official looking letter with Gbogbo letter head stating that Gbogbo will guarantee a transaction. All such letters are fake
  2. Someone requests money for goods over payment schemes such as Western Union
    • These payment methods are unsecured and there is no way to trace your money. Conduct business in this way at your own risk
    • Bait items for such transactions are Flat Screen TVs, Laptops, Cell Phones, etc but can be almost anything
    • The price for such bait items always seems to good to be true
  3. Someone asks for partial payment upfront and will then ship the goods
    • Always transact for goods in person
    • He says he trusts you with partial payment
    • He may say he has already shipped the goods
    • Deal often sounds too good to be true
